Hello everyone,
This will be the last email update for 2024.
On behalf of all of us in the staff team can I extend our thanks to you for the opportunity to walk with you and to share with you the task of building God’s Kingdom over the last 12 months.
During that time 4 main presbytery meetings were held alongside linkings, unions, guardianships, parish groupings, inductions and sadly a few funeral services of faithful colleagues we said au revoir to. Across our congregations new people came to faith, existing people of faith grew, new initiatives were started, whilst some existing programs came to the end of their natural life and stopped. Musselburgh St Clement’s and St Ninians was dissolved, which was sad, yet Presbytery instructed Mission and Planning to consider how we get church restarted there, which was good. In both joy and hardship God has been faithful.
We do not know what 2025 will bring; our experience tells us there will be good and bad times. That experience also tells us God will be faithful.
As we move from 2024 into 2025, may you know the presence of God the Father, the foundation of God the son, and the companionship of God the Spirit.
The church's one foundation
is Jesus Christ, her Lord;
she is his new creation
by water and the Word:
from heav'n he came and sought her
to be his holy bride;
with his own blood he bought her,
and for her life he died.
The Presbytery Office is closed from Monday 23rd until January 6th. From now till 31st December Norman will be on emergency cover and will check his emails a couple of times per day. From 1st Jan through to the 6th, Peter is on call and will do the same. If you need us, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
God bless you and yours in all you do, may this Christmas season be a time of blessing for you all.
